Is it a microphone pop guard made from a roll of tape and a Karate Kid head band?
It is - how did you know it was a Karate Kid headband? Did I show that to you before? I guess it's on my blog in other places.
Is that an Edirol controller on the tier below the laptop? I've been thinking about selling my Keystation 88 to get the smaller (and better appointed) Axiom. Among other things the drum pads on the Axiom can also be used as continuous pressure controllers (i.e. you can wiggle your finger on them to control vibrato or whatever) and the keyboard has monophonic aftertouch as well (can be used for the same purpose). When do we get to hear the tracks?
