John and I have been visiting the MIT anime club the past couple of Fridays, and I gotta say that A) club members meet many of the stereotypes of anime watchers, B) they're very comfortable being who they are, which is great, and C) I'll definitely be looking up the local club at UW. Anime with Indiana Jones-ish lost civilizations on the Danube with professor Carleton-or-other ethnographer is just a bad idea (looking at you, Feed). Unless robots and/or samurai went rampant shortly after we left

There once was a wizard named John
Who put his magic gown on.
Up up he ascended,
Far more than intended,
And landed somewhere in Ceylon.

"Personally, I liked the university. They gave us money and facilities, we didn't have to produce anything! You've never been out of college! You don't know what it's like out there! I've worked in the private sector. They expect results." -Ray

That building in the background was actually used in the filming of Ghostbusters. Nice call, Ad.
The wedding ceremony ended with the band breaking into song and all the participants dancing offstage, just like the ending credits of a movie. It was kind of funny to have several hours of reception left after such a monumental exit (after the exit, the couple and everyone else came back out for the rest of the evening). (Los Altos, CA)
that's more of a "tom, stop taking pictures" look. I have made it a thousand times...
oh how I wish there were a look that doesn't say "we're about to play a trick on Feed"
