My next assignment for school involves making a sweet computer animated video of the Lowboy (chair, pictured with avant-garde design troupe). (Cambridge, MA)

You are so totally disaffected....

There's a reason why none of them are actually sitting IN the chair...

Blogger David

Does this video need some sweet tunes? Perhaps we could throw down some rhymes about lowboy locomotion or something.

Blogger Natalie

Feed has a point. Does anyone ever actually sit in the chair? Or is it just there for looks?

My new processor (foreground) is boring, but the fan to cool it (background) is sweet. (Cambridge, MA)

So let me get this straight, someone going to MIT is building a computer? Out of off-the-shelf parts?! That is outrageous!

Why aren't you 1337. Where are my quantum computers? Where is my carbon solid-state memory? Where is my liquid-cooled processor for goodness sakes--you are still using a fan?!

1992 called--they want you to stop screwing with their technology.

Off the shelf nothing - I made that with a laser and 20 hand-positioned mirrors. And if I didn't make it with a laser, I definitely used tin snips at least twice during installation. One of those two sentences is true.

Ha.

Also, thingsarecool called, it want's its comment back.

Ok fine, I am not on a tropical island any more and I can accept that. This is more representative of my actual daily life - think tunnels, very large coats, and students shuffling by with their heads hung low. (Cambridge, MA)

The Hawaiian birthday strawberry, an enduring symbol of becoming more strawberry-like with every passing year. (Honolulu, HI)

hmm, I detect a recurring Hawaii theme on the blog. A little cold in Boston?

Want a reason to stay in Massachusetts over winter? I'll give you ten reasons, and they all start with "robot."
Blogger ewesa

oh good! more pirates!

Blogger Kaahl

i heart robos (that's french for robots)

Blogger mnlop

gotta love the geeks in their scary skull bandanas.

Blogger Andrew

The coolest of coolest robots would be this one with a massive subwoofer and a record player that'd play really bass-heavy hip-hop and knock everyone else over with it's sick beat.

This one goes out to Andrew, whose enjoyment of this robot description will be over 100% and you'll have to apply a modulo function to even figure out what his enjoyment of it is. (Cambridge, MA)
Blogger Monique

I had to revert to calculus, by which I found that the integral of his enjoyment is phat plus a constant, where the constant is equal to more phat.

Blogger Andrew

Lim(Awesome) --> inf % cool is definitely Awesome, but still undefined (see below). It doesn't map into the usual set of Nice. This a good several orders of infinity beyond that and since there's no one-to-one mapping into the Nice set it must definitely be Awesome to an order above and beyond the usual Awesome set, since it doesn't map one-to-one to that either. Since the usual Awesome does map one-to-one to the set of irrational then the only conclusion left to be drawn is this is mind-blowingly Awesome, as all things way beyond irrational generally are, Q.E.D.
